DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR

Stace Brandt joined the Art Lab team in 2023 as a Grant Writer. They have since moved into the role of Development Coordinator where they are passionate about expanding Art Lab’s capacity to provide inclusive arts experiences to the Everett community. Their current work encompasses narrative strategizing, grant writing, and strategic planning.

Brandt holds a degree in English and Studio Art from The University of Vermont. They are the former Assistant Director of Gallery VERY, an artist-run gallery and exhibition space in Boston. Their personal creative practices include arts writing, curation, poetry, and music.

FOUNDER | DIRECTOR

Martha Chason-Sokol is a practicing artist who shows her work locally and nationally. An associate member of Kingston Gallery, and the Chair of the Everett Cultural Council, Martha has shown at The Boston Sculptors Gallery, The Hudson Valley Museum of Contemporary Art, and the Fitchburg Art Museum among others. She has a Bachelor’s degree from Brandeis University and an MFA in Fine Arts from Lesley University College of Art and Design.

Chason-Sokol has taught in non-traditional settings for over thirty-five years. In the process of moving to Everett, MA. in June 2020, she became aware that there was no designated art space in the city and wanted to provide the community with the joy and healing of creative arts experiences. Since August 2021, as the Founder/Director of Art Lab Everett, she has offered these opportunities to Everett residents regardless of their ability to pay.

CHAIRMAN

Damain Allen has served as Chair of the Art Lab Everett board since January 2024. Prior to joining the Art Lab board, Damain attended several open houses, including one spotlighting the artwork of his daughter, Tiana Allen. As chair, Damain works with the board to create and guide Art Lab strategy and coordination with its municipal and business partners.

Damain has held several leadership roles during his career including at Amundi US Inc where he served as Procurement Director and was a founding member of Amundi's Diversity and Inclusion committee. In addition to professional roles Damain also serves on the Everett Housing Authority Board of Commissioners, is a board member of the Winchester A Better Chance program directing Alumni relations, and he is an Everett Little League coach.

Damain is a graduate of Tufts University with a degree in Political Science and has been a resident of Everett since 2013, where he resides with his wife Katrina and children.

TREASURER

Jerry Chason-Sokol has served as the Treasurer of Art Lab Everett since its founding in November of 2022. As Treasurer Jerry works with the board and staff on a wide range of Projects.

Jerry has held several leadership roles during his career including VP Technical Accounting and Treasurer at BTMU Capital Corporation. He is currently Sr Manager, Lease Accounting and Reporting at Charles River Laboratories and he is a member of the CRL Proud employee resource group. Over his career he has served on the board of various other Organizations.

Jerry is a CPA, and he is a graduate of the University of Iowa with a BBA in Accounting. He has been a resident of Everett since 2020, where he resides with his wife Matha.
