Listening works
Paid arts apprenticeships
Listening Works is a paid arts apprenticeship for Everett youth ages 16–24. The program combines artmaking and creative writing with professional development, culminating in local public art engagements. For 10 hours per week, youth apprentices move through a structured framework, progressing from personal exploration to collaborative practice with peers and visiting artists to public presentation. The program takes place at the Art Lab studio weekly, with scheduled off-site engagements in Everett and field trips in the Boston area.
Create art | make friends | share with community
True to its name, Listening Works centers the act of listening as the key to making art that creates change. The program is structured with projects centered in three key phases:
1) Listening to Oneself
