ALL AGES WORKSHOPS
ENCAUSTIC PAINTING
Intuitive Drawing w/India Ink & Hot Wax
No art experience? No worries! Martha will guide you through an intuitive painting process. Beginning with ice-breaker drawing activities, learn how to layer the hot paint, and then create a beautiful abstract painting that you can give as a gift or hang on your wall
First, a few safety tips will be explained about working with hot wax and hot tools. During the two hour workshop I will demonstrate a few techniques and provide guidance as you try them out.
The art lab is fully equipped with a Roland Hotbox, three 16"x16" R&F Handmade Paint Palettes, painting and drawing tools and supplies. The studio is also vented with two vent-a-fumes. Some of the tools include heat guns, torches, wax writers, tools for scraping back wax and tools for incising lines into wax. Also available are brushes, dip pens, India ink, pigmented beeswax and medium. Students will be provided with everything needed for encaustic painting and drawing.
Entrance is at the entrance on Locust Street. Please text when you arrive.
No prior art experience necessary.
